Exam Details

Hamilton tests through Firefighter Services of Ontario (FSO). First comes a video-based, multiple-choice Firefighter Entry Level Test, where you need 70% or more in Human Relations. Candidates who advance then complete FSO's Applicant Assessment, which includes the CPS Firefighter Entry-Level written exam: oral information, reading comprehension, arithmetic reasoning, and maps, diagrams and mechanical drawings. Hamilton's full-time recruitment was closed as of October 2026.
